Father,
Thank You that you so loved the world, that You gave Your only begotten Son. Thank You that He bore my sins in His own body and died on the cross for me. Because I believe in Him, I will not perish, but have everlasting life. You did not send Your Son to condemn me or others in the world; but that we, through Him, might be saved.
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” I choose to follow Jesus. Jesus also said, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be my disciples.”
Father, as I study the Bible and the words of Jesus, I pray that You open up my understanding to the Scriptures and that I grow in grace, and in the knowledge of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I want to be His disciple. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
